Yesterday I was in need of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 and when I searched for the same on Microsoft website it took me to webpage of 2008 express edition development tool that I certainly did not want, greatest thing was that the great Microsoft didn’t even post any archive link for its old recently closed products. I had no other option then googling and as it goes for most of the case it didn’t help me in direct manner but after using Google smartly I managed to get all the offline files from Microsoft with help of “Great Google”.
It’s enough to appreciate myself now here is offline download link for all the offline version of visual studio 2005 express edition. In this list there is a complete list of all the visual studio 2005 express edition tools.
You can download the offline installer of following Microsoft visual studio 2005 express edition from given location in two format. You can download the complete offline installer of express edition in img or iso format from given location.
All the bellow files are more them 400MB.

To the second poster: Not everyone wants to make money with their software. Therefore, we don't want to pay for the program(s) to create new software.
Furthermore, all software should be freeware!

thanks a lot for this! MS wants everyone to throw out their machines every two years and buy the latest and greatest from them....wouldn't mind it if their products didn't seem to get slower with every iteration...anyone noticed how slow vs 2010 is? I remember the good ole days when vb6 could have a form with a button on it up and running on a Pentium 1 in less than 15 seconds.....

Thank you so much. I simply would like to learn the very basics of programming. Thus (at least for me)it doesn't matter if I'm running VS 2005, 2008 or 2010. I'm still learning the basics of programming. At one point I did have Visual Studio 2005 Express installed and utilized the software for quite some time. But I had a computer issue and had to delete the program. When I went to download it again, the program was no longer available from Microsoft. The fact is I'm still running Windows 2000 on another system (believe it or not) and the OS is amazing. I have access to an XP system but Win2000 stills functions fine on my other system that I mainly use for programming and the OS is fast! Visual Studio 2005 Express is the last version that works with Windows 2000.
How do I install the program on my system after I download the ISO file? Thank you

Step 1:
Download your files from the kind person who listed the files above.
Step 2:
“How to open ISO and IMG files”. Go to the post by Gary Gideon dated Thursday, July 21, 2011 5:22 PM. Scroll to the bottom of the link to see Gary’s post. The last time I looked, the post is located at the 3rd post from the bottom. Please read his post. Its located here:

Step 3:
Download and install Virtual CloneDrive. It’s free and the program is required to unpack and open the IMG and ISO files.
